Job Description
1. Curriculum Development & Instruction
- Design and deliver AP courses (e.g., AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Biology) aligned with College Board standards, ensuring alignment with exam syllabi.
- Employ diverse teaching methodologies (e.g., case studies, Socratic seminars, lab investigations) to deepen subject understanding and cultivate higher-order thinking skills.
- Integrate digital tools (e.g., AP Classroom, online mock exam platforms) to enhance instructional effectiveness.
2. Student Preparation & Support
- Guide students in developing AP exam preparation plans, provide targeted practice, and analyze mock exam results to improve pass rates and high-score achievement.
- Monitor academic performance and offer after-school tutoring or personalized learning plans for students requiring additional support.
- Assist students in completing AP Capstone projects (if applicable), fostering research and academic writing skills.
3. Assessment & Feedback
- Design formative and summative assessments (e.g., FRQs, DBQs, lab reports) adhering to AP grading rubrics and provide timely, detailed feedback.
- Analyze student performance data to refine teaching strategies and address diverse learning needs.
4. Collaboration & Professional Development
- Participate in the AP Course Audit to ensure compliance with College Board certification requirements.
- Collaborate with the college counseling team to support student university applications (e.g., recommendation letters, AP score interpretation).
- Attend College Board workshops, AP teacher training sessions, and subject-specific conferences.
