Job Title: Bilingual Child Forensic Interviewer

Location: Marietta, GA

SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center

SafePath is a child advocacy center dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for children impacted by abuse or neglect. We work closely with law enforcement, child protection services, medical professionals, and victim advocates to ensure children’s voices are heard and their needs are met.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Bilingual Child Forensic Interviewer to conduct legally sound, developmentally appropriate interviews with children and vulnerable individuals in both English and Spanish. The interviewer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support investigations of child abuse, sexual assault, and trafficking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct forensic interviews with children and adolescents, both English and Spanish.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, child protective services, medical, and mental health professionals as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide expert testimony in court as needed regarding interview techniques and child development.
• Participate in ongoing case reviews, staffings, and peer review sessions.
• Maintain cultural sensitivity and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education related to child advocacy and forensic interviewing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Child Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written) required.
• Completion of a nationally recognized forensic interviewer training (e.g., ChildFirst, APSAC, NCAC) or willingness to complete within 6 months of hire.
• Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development, dynamics of abuse, and cultural competency.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with professionals from multiple disciplines.
• Comfort with courtroom testimony preferred.
