Full Stack Developer (React, Node.js, Python) – College Internship (unpaid)

About the Internship We are developing a career growth and exploration app that helps students set goals, match to career pathways, and access project-based learning opportunities. The app includes career matching algorithms, skill quizzes, project libraries, and a recommendation system powered by AI. The app is
live and deployed , with an active user base, and we are now focused on adding exciting new features, improving performance, and maintaining existing functionality. Additionally, we are in the early stages of developing a webscraping tool that uses AI agents to collect data on internship and scholarship opportunities for students. This role will have the opportunity to contribute to both projects!
Role Overview We are seeking a motivated
Full Stack Developer Intern who is eager to gain hands-on experience contributing to a live production application. You will work directly with the
product manager to design and implement new features, optimize performance, and maintain stability across the application. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world development experience while making a measurable impact on a product already in use.
Responsibilities - Building and refining front-end features using React/React Native
- Developing and maintaining backend services in Node.js
- Assisting with Python scripts and integrations for AI and data processing
- Implementing new features based on user feedback and product roadmap
- Debugging and resolving issues to maintain app stability
- Collaborating with the product manager to design and integrate APIs
- Supporting deployment and release processes
Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred)
- Experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Basic understanding of Node.js backend development
- Familiarity with Python for scripting or automation
- Familiarity with SQL queries ( PostgreSQL)
- Understanding of REST APIs and database interactions
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)- Experience with React Native mobile development
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, DigitalOcean, Firebase, or similar)
- Knowledge of Git branching and pull request workflows
- Exposure to AI/ML models or API integrations
