Position Overview:

Senior Accountant

Location: Dothan, AL
Salary: $85,000–$97,500 (commensurate with experience)
Bonus Potential: Up to $20,000 annually

A privately held, multi-division organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead financial operations, reporting, and team management. This highly visible role reports directly to the President and works closely with executive leadership and the parent company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Close

Manage monthly close for multiple operating divisions
Prepare Balance Sheets, P&Ls, and journal entries
Oversee inter-divisional billing and WIP for project-based operations
Handle inventory tracking and vehicle leasing/financing
Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting to parent company

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 accounting staff (AP, AR, payroll coordination)
Partner with HR on benefits administration (group health, 401(k), etc.)
Collaborate with IT on system integrations

Systems & Reporting

Maintain QuickBooks Online (future transition to Sage)
Utilize advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 for reporting and analysis
Interpret data from job costing and customer service systems
Develop and communicate KPIs to leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)
3–5 years of experience leading accounting teams
Strong multi-entity monthly close experience
Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
Knowledge of benefits administration and payroll coordination
Excellent communication and organizational skills
