Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer with deep expertise in Shopify development for a part-time, contract role. This position will focus on creating high-performance, visually stunning online storefronts for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a passion for problem-solving, and at least three years of experience working with Shopify Plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Development: Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, JavaScript, React, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Shopify Expertise: Implement advanced Shopify features, including APIs, Apps, Functions, and Extensions, tailored to client needs.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and scalable code while adhering to Shopify’s best practices.
  • Collaboration: Partner with designers, marketers, and back-end developers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Project Ownership: Lead medium to high-complexity front-end feature development, providing high-quality deliverables on schedule.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues proactively to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Shopify and front-end development trends to provide innovative solutions.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Advanced skills in Liquid, JavaScript, React, Tailwind CSS, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
    • Extensive experience with Shopify Plus, including theme customization, Shopify Scripts, and Shopify Checkout.
  • ECommerce Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices, including UX/UI design and conversion optimization.
    • Familiarity with analytics tools to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of front-end development with a strong focus on Shopify.
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Headless Commerce architectures.
  • Familiarity with Agile workflows and tools like Jira/Confluence.
  • Knowledge of SEO and storefront performance optimization.
