Media literacy is at the heart of all our programs and projects. All our media programs and products and training have the one goal in common, that is to enable people to understand the contents, influence of the mainstream news and media coverage to fully participate in public life and make informed and rational decisions as they continue their normal life.
Media shapes the public discourse, so we recognize that different communities have different perspectives and understanding towards media. As a result, their participation in both public political and economic lives ultimately depend on their knowledge, involvement, and participation in media.
We genuinely believe that critical thinking and the ability of communities to digest the motives of the media industry helps communities develop resilience and connection among various communities that are necessary for them to come up with community-based explanations, and solutions to the problems and challenges they encounter, without waiting for outside resources and interventions.
Our community conversation, digital storytelling and digital inclusion projects all share an objective of strengthening populace comprehension towards mass media and eventually expanding their participation, understanding and access to media, information, and digitally available services.
Areas our current multimedia covers include individual, personal or community stories, Climate change, Cost of living, Mental Health, Family care and family planning, and access to education and health services.
We recruit, train, and enable Digital Ambassadors to support communities to gain digital skills. We provide resources such as devices, calling and internet credit, ICT suite and other support.
We organise and facilitate community conversations to facilitate meaningful engagement, deliberations, decision-making by our communities in exploring and responding to issues affecting them.
We provide training, resources, and connections for individuals and communities to use technology to tell stories, amplify their voices, and to build the capacity of local communities.
We recruit, train, and support individuals to gain journalism and multimedia skills and qualifications to become local Community Journalists thus diversifying voices, views, and representation of our communities.
We provide community focused face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses in community journalism, community conversations, digital and multimedia skills, media literacy, among others.
